6 Ingredient Rice Krispy Treats
Needing a yummy snack for the weekend, but don’t want to spend a lot of time making it? I have the perfect dessert for you!! These peanut butter Rice Krispies are super easy to make and are SO YUM.
What you will need for the peanut butter Rice Krispies:
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of white Karo syrup
1 cup of peanut butter
6 cups of Rice Krispies
1 bag of semi sweet chocolate chips
1 bag of butterscotch chocolate chips
**the recipe originally calls for 1/2 bag of semi sweet chips, and 1/2 bag of butterscotch chips, but I like my frosting THICK so I double it. If you like thin sad frosting, feel free to stick to 1/2 bag of each ;)
Directions:
Put 1 cup of white Karo syrup in a large saucepan and heat until barely boiling.
Once barely boiling, add in your 1 cup of sugar, and your 1 cup of peanut butter
Once well mixed together, add in your 6 cups of rice krispies
4. Press mixed peanut butter Krispies into a greased 9x13 pan.
5. In another saucepan pour together your semi-sweet chocolate chips along with your butterscotch chips. Heat over a low temp until fully melted together. (you can also heat these up in a microwave safe bowl, but as they require different heating times - it is easier to do them all together on the stove and only uses one bowl instead of two)
6. Once melted and stirred, pour chocolate “frosting” over the top of your Rice Krispies. Allow to set until chocolate has hardened.
7. Enjoy! :)
Let me know if you give these a try! Hope you enjoy them and have a wonderful weekend!
