April Book of the Month

Here it is, a full two weeks late!

My April Book of the month is: The Sanatorium by Sara Pearse. If you keep up with Reese Witherspoons’s book club, you know this one is on her list, and if you’ve read it, you probably agree with this pick!

This book is a great thriller! It revolves around an old sanatorium that has been revamped into a super modern hotel in the alps. Naturally, as is in any good thriller, people start disappearing and turning up dead, and of COURSE an avalanche traps all of the guests in the hotel where police cannot reach them.

Stressful. lol

The main character justttt so happens to be a cop that is on “leave” following a traumatic case at work that she just hasn’t quite gotten over, so she has to work to overcome her fears to work to figure out this case. I would also note that this storyline involves creepy masks which to me makes everything more scary. Not as scary as clowns, but still scary. This was a quick read with an unpredictable ending.
