Current Hair Care Faves

Happy Friday Eve, fam! Wanted to drop in and link some of my favorite hair care products at the moment. With spring in full swing, and summer just around the corner, there is no better time to stock up on some great products to prepare for pool/beach hair aka dry! By no means do you need all of these, I just like to switch up my routine each time so that my hair doesn’t get too used to any one product. Below are some of my absolute favorites!

I like to break these down into categories, and all products I love are linked below! Shampoos: I didn’t take pics of these because I didn’t think anyone wanted photos of my massive liter size bottles I keep in the shower.

  1. If I am going for the gold standard of shampoos, I absolutely LOVE my Oribe purple shampoo. I pair that with the Oribe Gold Lust conditioner. These products are a little pricey, but SO worth the splurge. After bleaching my hair for as long as I have been (13 years, yikes), these products brought my dry brittle ends back. to. life.

    2. In the same family as Oribe is R+Co. products. Their purple shampoo and conditioner is great for blonde hair. These aren’t as pricey as Oribe, and smell soooo good. I haven’t used any shampoos/conditioners from them that aren’t the sunset blvd purple products, but know they would be wonderful as well based on your hair needs!

    3. Kevin Murphy: Since I have had extensions, I alternate between washes using my Oribe line up above and the Kevin Murphy Angel Wash/and Hydrate Me conditioner. These aren’t as “perfumey” as the Oribe or R+Co products. They smell more “natural” and also make my hair super soft. I’m a fan!

Next up is our styling products. I have always had board straight hair, so I have never had to use a crazy amount of products in my hair as it pretty much looked the same if it air dried/blow dried/etc. Until I had extensions. Now after I wash my hair, I detangle, prep spray, and use some form of moisture cream which keeps it soft and style able for days after my wash. (If you know me, you know I was my hair every 7-10 days, 10-14 if I can make it lol)

  1. Amika detangling spray/primer: I never needed a detangling spray until I had extensions. THAT BEING SAID. I will use this until the day I D-I-E solely for how good it smells. If they made this in a perfume, I would buy it :). Smells so good, works so well for tangles too, win-win!

  2. R+Co One prep spray: if you don’t need a detangler, this will work as a heat protectant before you blow dry. I still use this after my detangler as well!

  3. Moisturizing Creams: My all time favorite is R+Co’s Moisture and Shine Cream. I rub this all through my ends before I blow dry. Some other great options are the Oribe Supershine Light moisturizing cream and the Featherbalm Weightless Styler. These are more expensive as they are Oribe, and I just have preferred how the R+Co cream works in my hair before a blow out over the Oribe products. Always good to have options though :)

  4. Post blow dry: I love me a good humidity spray, especially in the summer time. Right now I am loving the R+Co “Foil” anti static and frizz spray, but will link some others I have tried and loved below. Honestly, no real preference on these as they all have gotten the job done for me. The R+Co one is just what I happen to have on hand right now!

Finally… Post blow dry styling and maintenance

  1. Hair Dryer: girl, get you the cheap revlon round brush dryer. All the volume. Way less time. Need I say more?

  2. Dry shampoos: LOVE the Oribe Gold Lust line. Again, this is a pricier option. I also love me a good batiste spray from Target, or another cheaper option is the Billie powder dry shampoo. If you already get the Billie razor, throw this in your next order!

  3. Texture sprays: broken record here - but the Oribe texture spray literally cannot be beat. It is worth the splurge to me. I have tried several others, but none are quite as good! Another new fave of mine is the Davines texture spray (also smells so so good). Unfortunately I do not have a way to link that one for you, but you can google it and order directly from their website or ask your hairstylist. I get mine from my wonderful local hair salon - Olivia Yeager. If you want to support local, hit her up on instagram and she can get you hooked up.

  4. Last but not least, styling products! As I already said, my hair is naturally straight. Like annoyingly straight. So the straightener I own is a wide paddle CONAIR one from 7th grade. I have zero recommendations on straighteners (BUT HEY IF YOU DO LMK IN THE COMMENTS). For curling irons, I love my ghd 1.25 curling iron. It is my amazing. Since getting extensions though, the Bio Ionic long barrel 1.25 curling iron has changed the game. It takes me maybe 10 mins to curl alllll of my hair and makes getting ready so much faster! I will link both below. Both are pricey - once again. But if I combined all of the money I’ve spent on cheap terrible curling irons I’ve had in the past that never lasted long, I could have just bought these from the start and spent about the same money. You for sure get what you pay for with these two!!

This ended up being so much longer than I anticipated, whoops! What did I miss? What brands are your faves and what products do you use that have transformed your hair? Let me know in the comments below! :) Enjoy your Friday and weekend!
