March Book of the Month:

Happy weekend!

If you know me, you know I LOVE a good read.  The problem is, I tend to not diversify what I am reading.  I seem to stick to one genre only, which is psychological thrillers.  To me, there is nothing better than being on the edge of my seat, thinking I have a book figured out, only to have it completely wrong and have a huge twist at the very end!  

This year, I am going to work on reading more than just psychological thrillers, but no promises that they will be my book of the month :).  As I read other books, I will post them here in case you might be interested.

For March, I have chosen Verity by Colleen Hoover.  Oh my goodness, this book is CHILLING!  I sat down and read this book in just one day.  On a scale of “I totally saw that coming” to sitting with my mouth wide open in shock, this one was a 5/5 on the shock scale.  My hands were sweating just reading it. 

This book is not for the faint of heart.  If you are a mama friend of mine, who hasn’t been able to watch Dateline since you had your sweet babies, I would recommend not picking up this book.  It will keep you up at night.

This book centers around a young author (Lowen) who is chosen to finish a popular book series as a “co-writer” to the main author (Verity).  Verity had an accident which has rendered her unable to complete her series.  Her husband takes on the task of finding a co-writer for her.  Once he hires Lowen, he invites her out to he and Verity’s house so that she can get any and all notes/insight that Verity had written prior to her accident.  Hoping this would help with her creative writing process, Lowen went to stay for several days to sift through Verity’s office.  What she finds instead, is an unfinished autobiography that haunts Lowen to the core and leaves her asking how much of this, if any, should she share with Verity’s grieving husband.  This autobiography contains many terrifying admissions, leading up to the night that changed Verity’s family forever.
